Ask me

So I'm bored today at work...anyone have any random questions they would like me to answer. They can be about me or otherwise!

Ask away!

New Sleep

I may or may not have been sleeping in the guest room all weekend. I may or may not be so busy and unmotivated that I haven't put sheets on the bed. Is there something wrong with this situation?

Thank You

I'd like to give a shout out to Miss Priss and Bill for taking time out of their evening to come over to my house last night. That was all the motivation I needed to get the Christmas mess put away. They wrapped ornaments, packed boxes and even helped with storing things in the garage. If it hadn't been for you two that tree would have stayed up until we hung Easter eggs on it. More importantly I got to hang out with them and talk about things that only matter to the 3 of us. Yes - there was wine and Taco Bueno involved to make it even better.

So to this post I say goodbye to this lovely that has been in the corner for long enough. Miss you and see you next year!

Love it

Here are some current things I'm loving today!

JB & Sandy Morning Show (Mix 94.7) - I was totally cracked up all morning with the radio. I've been listening to them since I moved to Austin 6 years ago and have laughed everyday thanks to them and the rest of the crew. Thanks guys - you rock!

Vivo's - Better than Sex...TexMex. If you read this blog you know I LOVE Mexican food more than anything and this place is great. I always order something that includes a puffy taco when I go there. The margaritas are outstanding; they have a stellar patio; and all ladies get a rose.

Juiced Berry Lip Gloss - This is awesome and I love it. No matter what your skin color it will look great - promise!

GRITS book - Ad girl got me this book for Christmas and I find myself flipping through it almost every night. It's funny and helpful all at the same time. And yes, I do have a wonderful cast iron skillet and pearls - thank you very much.

Too Long

How long is too long to have a Christmas tree still up and decorated in your house? Not only that what about the rest of the decorations too. Yes it true I've procrastinated this long why don't I just make some construction paper hearts and call it the Valentine's day tree! Maybe it could look like this one?

No - I promise not to leave my house this evening until it is taken down, boxed up and put in the garage! This is really getting out of hand - right?

Home Cookin'

When you invite someone over to your home for dinner it helps to have something to serve them!

So I promised Attorney a home cooked pot roast dinner tonight. I had everything ready to go and layered everything in the crock pot perfectly this morning. The salad is ready and the rosemary potatoes are in the oven roasting. There is garlic bread and maybe a little dessert.

One problem: When you do all of this work and turn the crock pot on before you leave for work it is ever so helpful to actually plug the stupid thing in!

That's right - I came home to crunchy carrots and a raw piece of meat - sucks to be me and Attorney. We're going to Double Dave's to have some 2 for Tuesday pepperoni rolls.

Hookers and Ponies

So when you try on a pair of hooker boots that are in your size and 70% you just know something has to go wrong. I slipped that boot right on like it already belonged in my closet, and walked around to make sure it was just conservative enough to not get me into trouble at work. Then it happened....I tried to take it off (to put in the box for purchase) and I couldn't get the son of a bitch off. Not even kidding when I tell you the sales associate just stared at me like I was a lunatic. I had to sit down in the aisle of the department store and tug and pull to get them off and you know the stress of everyone looking didn't help either. Finally I got it off and got the hell out of there!

You better believe I then ventured over to Nine West and made this beautiful purchase...way better than the stupid boots!

Sorry Miss Priss I tried to call and make sure you wouldn't mind if I stole your pattern.

Pedicure Please

I wouldn't consider myself a girlie girl but I do enjoy being pampered. Over the last week I've been in desperate need of a pedicure. It's past the point of just a good paint job but I would like a scrub and rub too. I finally took off the cracked and chipped polish and have been bare for almost a week now. Having worn high heels for the past 2 weeks straight hasn't been the best thing ever so hopefully I'll get some time for a pedi...

Other plans for the weekend include but aren't limited to: cleaning my trashed out house; getting the office ready for a new tenant; celebrating Miss Peddler's birthday with dinner; coordinating a wedding at the cathedral (job #3); taking some clothes to the tailor; and maybe getting some sleep!

The Steaks are Sizzling...

and DE-licious that's for sure. Session has officially begun now that I've had my first steak of the season. Austin Land and Cattle is one of the best places for a steak in town. They also have my most favorite appetizer ever, the roasted green chilies stuffed with goat cheese. Today I'm giving props to them for making my happy last night and filling my belly with awesomeness!

I'm also procrastinating on writing the thank you notes for Christmas presents that should have been sent out over 2 weeks ago...so sorry if you haven't received yours yet...it's in the mail! ;)

Jammed

So I don't know what I did yesterday but I jammed my thumb once again. This time is the worst and it hurts like a mother. This might be my last post until it feels better - sorry but the bridal show was the only event of the weekend and I have 10,000 stories from it.

Quote of the Show: Can you do flowers like what's at my grandma's cemetery?

Please tell me you aren't referring to plastic?

So Cheap it was Free

As you know Dilly Dally and I went shopping this weekend and I purchased a few items but nothing spectacular. It was one of those I found a great jacket but they didn't have a skirt or pants in my size or vice verse. Well last night my mom came into town and we didn't have any plans so we ran up to the RR outlets. It was only 30 minutes before closing so I thought we'd have time for one or 2 stores and then head home. You will not believe my dumb luck...I got not one but two fantastic suits and a skirt. Even better news - the one from Banana was 50% off and the one at Ann Taylor was 75% off. I tend too be to much a black wearer so to branch out both of these are brown and I'm pumped.

I was running around the mall like a chicken with my head cut off. I totally doubled my 5 minute exercise routine last night and it was worth it!

Sole Love

I was driving into work this morning and saw something I don't understand. It was a single high heel in the middle of a 4 lane road. While looking for an example of this to post I found an excellent website that is dedicated to this phenomenon. Does anyone else wondering about such crazy things?

Lost Soles of the Highway

Picture of the Bench

It has been requested by a few for a visual of said bench...stop by for a visit and I can offer you a variety of drinks and snacks.

The Bench is Open for Business

OK so last month I posted about my disaster of an office and how I was really trying to work on the organization of it all. Well today I finally did something amazing...cleaned off the bench. There is much anticipation over next week and the opening day of session and I hope that friends will stop by to visit. In hopes of this I need places for people to hang and the bench is open!

It's to early to be here

I got to work this morning at 7:08am - why you ask? I got my ass out of bed and went to church this morning. I told you one of the New Year's Resolutions was to make it to daily mass once a week and so the alarm went off at 5am and I was slow moving but made it there. Be proud!

Punching the Clock

I've been sitting at my desk working for the last day and a half in a funk. Things are less than stellar here and it's bringing me down. I'm to pout for the rest of today and that's it. So sorry if I've been rude or not so happy but that's how the cookie crumbs.

Tomorrow I'll be back to my peppy, energized self - promise. I'm in real need of some retail therapy after work and maybe some chips and queso.

Weekend Madness

This weekend has been a bit crazy but all in good fun. I had flowers to deliver to the Cathedral yesterday morning and they looked great if I do say so myself. Then home again to load up the car and deliver this weekend's wedding. It was at one of my favorite locations between Austin and Dripping Springs - The Terrace Club. I dropped everything off and it was beautiful. What a fantastic day to get hitched...it's the beginning of January and 85 degrees outside - AMAZING.

Also it was an amazing day to spend shopping with Dilly Dally and her hubby. We spent lots of time walking the outlet malls and it was an all around successful trip. We both purchased some clothes and the good deals were endless. And of course the night ended with a trip to Maudie's for dinner.

I'm about to head out for some more tex-mex for lunch and to run some errands before I spend a couple of hours in the chair for a much needed cut and color!

Lunch of Fun

So the lunch I hosted yesterday was super fun and delicious. The ham was great and so were the mash potatoes. Miss Priss brought the best dinner rolls from Whole Foods and this very yummy cake. Attorney showed up with her guy and a perfect chocolate mousse pie. I was fat and happy for the first day of 2009 and spent it with my other family and what more can you ask to start out a new year.

So that would be one party down for the resolution train - 6 more to go. This could be the most fun year of cooking and partying ever.

On another resolution note - I went to Target and finally purchased one of those balance balls. This could help me with the 5 minutes a day work out - I know it will because it took a lot of arm power to inflate the thing. Yes I actually busted out the video that came with it and did things too! Swimsuit season here I come!

Resolutions

So I'm not huge on resolutions but I do have a few things I'd like to work on for 2009.

1. Going to daily mass on Wednesday mornings. I know this might be more difficult than I anticipate but what could be bad about going to church 52 more times a year than I already do...nothing.

2. Participate in the 5 minutes of daily work out. I'm not really an exercise kind of girl so I figure if the 5 minutes is going well I can bump it up and if not what's it going to kill me, right? Plus I totally purchased the pink Reebok ball and love it.

3. Cooking dinner more often. I love to cook and entertain my friends but with 3 jobs it hard to find time. I'd like to have 6-7 fun dinner parties this year with my friends and family in attendance. At least 2 of the items served need to be something at least new to me.

4. Be the suggestion maker but not always the leader. I really don't know how to describe this but if you know me then you know I have a problem. Yes, admitting it is the first step. If there is ever a suggestion made or a question asked I'm the first to just on it...and need to think more about what exactly will be expected.

I'm tired tonight and the Ambien is kidding in for sure. Happy New Year!

Bring on 2009

Just a little Howdy from me, Procrastination Allie! Wishing all of you an extremely happy New Year and blessings for 2009.

I rang it in with Bill, Miss Priss and Irish. We had pizza, watched movies and drank champagne. What more could this girl want besides maybe a kiss or two...nothing at all I tell you.

Today I will be cooking for some friends and of course watching the best freaking parade there is, The Tournament of Roses Parade, DUH?!?! And what is on the menu you ask:

I'm making - ham, salad, black eyed peas and snacks
Miss Priss - dinner rolls and a dessert
Lawyer - surprise me potatoes
Attorney - chocolate dessert

If you read this and can think of anything else let me know...if I already have it I'll serve it and give you the credit!
